Here is what Grizzly Tec covers on a LiteTouch replacement in the Houston area, and how.
- LOXONE equipment: 2-year manufacturer warranty. New LOXONE equipment is covered by LOXONE's manufacturer warranty, per LOXONE's terms. If a device fails under that warranty, we handle the claim with LOXONE for you.
- Our installation: 1 year. We install according to LOXONE's installation guidelines and the applicable electrical code, and we warrant our installation work for 1 year from the date we complete commissioning. If something we installed was not installed correctly, tell us within that year and we come back and correct our work at no charge.
- Support. One year of complimentary remote support: questions, small programming adjustments and troubleshooting by phone or video. After the first year, support is through LoxPilot for LOXONE clients. On-site visits and new work are quoted separately.

In most homes, yes: Grizzly Tec reuses the existing LiteTouch keypad wiring. On 3-conductor cable we install LOXONE Air keypads, powered with 24V over two of the existing wires and communicating by radio; on cable with 4 or more conductors we install LOXONE Tree keypads. It cannot be done where the cable is damaged or does not reach the panel, and the diagnostic finds that before any work starts.
Should I replace my LiteTouch system with Lutron HomeWorks or Loxone?
Both can replace LiteTouch; Grizzly Tec installs LOXONE, and the difference that matters is who controls your system afterward. Lutron is a large brand with many dealers and an official LiteTouch retrofit path for HomeWorks QSX (Application Note #817), which requires replacing all existing LiteTouch power modules and keypads for warranty coverage. With LOXONE, we hand you the admin password and the complete configuration file, so future changes never depend on us.

Usually, yes: Grizzly Tec reuses LiteTouch keypad wiring, which is low voltage, in most cases. Cable with 3 conductors gets LOXONE Air keypads (24V over two existing wires, radio communication); cable with 4 or more conductors gets LOXONE Tree keypads. Damaged cable, or cable that does not reach the panel, has to be replaced, and we check this during the diagnostic.
How many days will my house be without lights during a LiteTouch replacement?
A typical LiteTouch replacement by Grizzly Tec takes 3–5 days; large homes with extras take 1–2 weeks. Depending on your wiring, we may be able to phase the work by zone, with lighting controlled from the LOXONE app while keypads are being connected.
Some of my LiteTouch keypad buttons stopped working. Should I repair the system or replace it?
Grizzly Tec recommends replacing when the CCU or several modules fail, or when parts are no longer available; a few dead buttons alone usually point to a keypad-level problem, not a CCU or module failure. LiteTouch parts are no longer manufactured and secondhand parts carry no warranty, so repeated faults are the signal to plan a replacement.
Can a LiteTouch replacement be done in phases?
Depending on your wiring, we may be able to phase the work by zone, with lighting controlled from the LOXONE app while keypads are being connected.

Will my LED lights work without flickering after a LiteTouch replacement?
Grizzly Tec addresses flicker as part of the replacement: we update fixture drivers only where they are incompatible with modern LED dimming, which is the most common reason older systems flicker or fail to dim properly.
Can I upgrade the look of my LiteTouch keypads when replacing the system?
Yes: Grizzly Tec replaces the multi-button beige LiteTouch keypads with LOXONE Touch Pure keypads, including the Touch Pure Flex with a flush glass surface and backlit scenes. A single Touch Pure often replaces the function of several LiteTouch keypads.
After a LiteTouch replacement, do programming changes require a paid service call?
Not in the first year: every Grizzly Tec LiteTouch replacement includes one year of complimentary support, and we hand you the admin password and the complete configuration file. After that, you can make changes yourself, have any LOXONE partner do it, or use LoxPilot (LOXONE clients).

Lutron HomeWorks or LOXONE: an honest comparison
Lutron is a strong choice, and we say so plainly. It is one of the biggest names in lighting control, it has a large dealer network across the country, and it publishes an official retrofit path for LiteTouch systems (Application Note #817, for HomeWorks QSX).
Both paths reuse the existing LiteTouch cable in much the same way. Lutron's own note says LiteTouch keypad wiring does not work with its wired keypads, so the options are new wire or radio keypads with separate power. On a 3-wire run, LOXONE uses Air radio keypads powered over two of the existing wires. Installation effort is not what separates the two.
What separates them is who controls the system once the work is done. When Grizzly Tec finishes a LOXONE replacement, you receive the admin password and the complete configuration file. You can make changes yourself or hire any LOXONE partner, so future changes never depend on a single dealer.
Both are serious systems. If you want a big brand with a local dealer relationship, Lutron fits. If you want full control of your own system, LOXONE fits, and that is the work Grizzly Tec does.
