By Daniel Lopez · Mechatronics Engineer & LOXONE Platinum Partner · Serving The Woodlands since 2012
If you’re building or renovating in The Woodlands, multi-room audio and home theater automation lets you control music, movies, and lighting across your entire home from a single app. Grizzly Tec has installed 1,000+ audio and video systems across the Houston metro as a LOXONE Partner since 2015, and we design each system so you own it completely—with zero monthly fees and the admin password in your hands. Whether you’re in Carlton Woods, Creekside Park, or Panther Creek, we build audio zones that work independently or together, with scenes that dim your lights and drop screens at one tap.
Why The Woodlands Homeowners Choose This
The Woodlands attracts executives and luxury custom-home owners who expect their homes to work as well as their offices. You’ve invested in a beautiful home in a master-planned community—why settle for speaker wire runs that limit where music can play, or home theater setups that require three remotes and a learning curve?
Audio and video automation solves this. Your speakers integrate with your lighting and window treatments through LOXONE’s control system. When you tap “Movie Night,” the lights dim to exactly the level you want, motorized screens drop, and surround sound activates—all at once. You’re not fighting with different apps or walking across the room to adjust volume.
The wooded lots that make The Woodlands so attractive also mean sun angles change throughout the day as light filters through the trees. Smart audio and lighting systems adjust together, so your outdoor speakers and interior zones always perform at the right volume and intensity for the actual light in the room. That’s something no standard speaker setup gives you.
What’s Included with Audio & Video
When you choose Audio & Video from Grizzly Tec, you’re getting more than speakers. We design zones—usually one per room or one per outdoor living area—that play music independently or in sync with other zones. Each zone gets a dedicated LOXONE audio controller that handles playback, volume, and source selection.
Your system pulls music from streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.), local storage, or internet radio. One app controls everything. You can play different songs in different rooms, group zones together for a whole-home experience, or create one-tap scenes that do multiple things at once—lower shades, dim lights to a specific brightness, and start a playlist.
We handle the invisible part: running speaker wire (or wireless where it makes sense), mounting in-wall or in-ceiling speakers, hiding equipment racks, and integrating everything into your LOXONE backbone. If you’re building new in Carlton Woods or Creekside Park, we coordinate with your builder to run wiring during framing. If you’re renovating, we minimize drywall cuts and can often use existing conduits.
For home theater, we add video switching, motorized projection screens, acoustic panels, and seating-area lighting that coordinates with your audio. We don’t just install a projector and hope—we calibrate the image, set up the sound field so dialogue is clear, and make sure your lighting design supports the viewing experience.
Project Examples in The Woodlands
We recently finished a Carlton Woods home where the owners wanted music throughout their home office, great room, kitchen, and covered patio. Each zone plays independently during the day—they run podcasts in the office, jazz in the kitchen—but during entertaining, everything syncs to one playlist. A single button on their phone transitions from “Work Mode” (office only) to “Entertain Mode” (whole house + patio).
Another project in Panther Creek was a scratch renovation where the homeowner was upgrading from a DIY setup that had failed twice. We ran a wired backbone through the home, installed commercial-grade in-wall speakers, and added a dedicated home theater room with motorized seating, a projection system with acoustic treatment, and lighting scenes timed to the movie experience. The system is now three years in with zero callbacks.
In Creekside Park, we designed an outdoor audio system for a summer kitchen and infinity-edge pool. Two weatherproof zones cover the seating areas with volume that doesn’t blast neighbors but sounds full in your own space. The shaded areas get more output than the sunny seating (a real advantage of smart zone design) because the trees naturally dampen sound.
Cost of Audio & Video in The Woodlands
Audio packages start around $3,000 per zone. A typical whole-home audio setup with four to five zones (interior living spaces plus one outdoor area) lands between $12,000 and $18,000 installed, depending on wiring complexity and speaker quality. If your home is already pre-wired or you’re building new, you save on labor. If we’re retrofitting through finished walls, budget goes up.
Home theater systems range from $8,000 (basic projector, screen, surround speakers) to $25,000+ (high-end projection, acoustic design, motorized seating, full scene integration). The advantage of tying it to LOXONE is that lighting and shade control is automatic—you don’t pay extra for automation integration because the system is already built in.
We offer financing and payment plans. More important: because you own the system outright with zero monthly fees, your cost is front-loaded. No recurring charges. No subscription to a cloud service. No company holding your admin password.

Frequently Asked Questions — Audio & Video in The Woodlands
Yes. If your home is pre-wired or under construction, installation is straightforward. For finished homes, we can run speaker wire through attics, crawl spaces, and existing conduit to minimize drywall cuts. Wireless speakers work too, though hardwired zones give better performance and reliability. We'll assess your specific situation and give you options.
You own the system completely. No contracts. If you move, you can uninstall and take it with you (though most buyers want audio systems to stay). If you want to upgrade, LOXONE systems are modular—we can swap out controllers or add zones without replacing everything.
No. You get the admin password and full control. We're here if you want help troubleshooting, but you don't pay monthly fees or need a service plan. The system runs independently once it's set up. Most clients maintain their own system and only call us if something fails.
Absolutely—that's the whole point. Your audio zones, lighting scenes, and motorized screens all live in the same LOXONE system. One tap triggers all of them together. This is built into our audio and video design, not an add-on.
Whole-home audio usually takes 3-5 days depending on wire runs. A home theater room can take 2-3 weeks if we're doing acoustic treatment and motorized seating. For new construction in The Woodlands, we coordinate during framing to minimize disruption. We'll give you a timeline before we start.
